About Me.
I’ve been teaching drums since 2015 across many different organizations, and over time I’ve developed an in-depth teaching approach shaped by my own experiences as both a student and a working drummer. I was taught to play right-handed even though I’m left-handed, which meant I had to build a lot of extra steps along the way—bridging gaps in understanding, overcoming mechanical obstacles, and rethinking concepts that others might take for granted. Because of this, I have a much deeper understanding of the nuances and mechanics behind drumming, and I’m able to clearly articulate techniques and movements that I had to discover myself when traditional lessons didn’t fully connect.
I bring that same level of detail into my teaching. I work closely with my students to develop a strong understanding of the physical mechanics first, so they can build real confidence behind the kit. With that foundation in place, we can layer in musical concepts that help them grow into well-rounded, expressive drummers.
I also have extensive experience stepping into gigs with very little notice and joining bands when the pressure is high. Those situations pushed me to create my own method for learning large amounts of musical material quickly and delivering for bands on the spot. This real-world approach is a key part of my lessons, and it’s why I focus on more than just playing the drums—I help my students become confident, competent drummers who can trust themselves in any musical environment.
